Be the Change for Animals - #BtC4A

Today, I want to write about Making changes for the better.  Be the Change for Animals is an organization that hosts a directory of animal causes, making it easy for supporters to receive action alerts and help to change the treatment of animals for the better.  Be the Change for Animals is also the host of the Blog the Change for Animals event.  This event occurs quarterly, and is a platform for animal supporters of every order to promote and further a variety of different causes benefiting animals.  Today, I am taking a pledge and making a fresh commitment to act on behalf of animals.  It is our job to speak for those who cannot, and to rally for the humane treatment of all lives, both human and non-human.

In an effort to promote positive changes for animals, I want to showcase a local organization that is truly doing its part to be the change that animals need.  I mentioned Pooches in Pines in a previous post, and I want to mention them again:  they are truly a wonderful and necessary organization that is striving to make the lives of animals better.  Working with the Pembroke Pines Police Department, Pooches in Pines helps to locate the owners of missing pets.  Can you imagine being lost and separated from the only home that you have ever known?  Can you imagine being condemned to death because your family couldn't find you?  These are scary scenarios for all pets and their families, and Pooches in Pines strives to reunite lost pets with their families and find safe and loving homes for those who are not successfully reunited.   Their mission fills a vital need in our community, and I am grateful for their work.

I encourage you to take the time to find a local organization that is working to further the betterment of animals, and support them.  Support them with time, support them with donations, support them with public praise and a kind word - support them in any way that you are able to.  All support counts, and all support is necessary to the bigger picture of better lives for all animals everywhere.

Please take a minute to visit the host of this blog hop, Be the Change for Animals.

  1. Love that Gandhi quote, and I believe it's oh so true. The world would be a much better place if more people took the time to care about animals. I think they'd be surprised to find out that it's really not that hard to make a difference! Thanks for sharing!

    1. Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read this important article! I agree that it is not difficult to show kindness, and I am hopeful that people make more of an effort to do so.

  2. Awesome quote and so very true. You can tell a lot about a person by how they treat animals. Sadly when I was in India there were a lot of kids / teenagers mistreating animals - if the tourists paid them they'd stop kicking them... it was very sad to watch people so desperate for money choose to make a living out of animal cruelty.

    1. WOW I had no idea that terrible things like that were happening in India - I am so glad that you shared. It is so sad that people resort to hurting another living creature just make a few bucks. Our family has a saying: if the dog doesn't like you, we don't like you! Animals CERTAINLY know whether a human is kind or not.

  3. That is one of my favorite quotes ever and so, so true. There is nothing more precious than an animal, and if you can't treat one of God's most precious creatures with kindness and respect than you just aren't human.

  5. This sounds like a very worthy organization. Great quote; and it's cool that they work with the police to find the owners.
