Zzzzzzzzz

Well, I have reached the end of the A-to-Z Challenge, and I am worn out.  I thought it appropriate to catch some Zzz's for my final post.  Goodnight, friends!

Oh So Thankful!

Thursday is a busy day on my blog.  Not only do I post about my training on Thursdays, but I also like to post about what I am thankful for.  This week, I want to post about how very thankful I am for recently winning the Quaker Pet Group Pet of the Month Contest (we are even featured on their website!) and receiving some new toys as a prize.  Here's a peek at the winning shot:

But winning some new toys is not what I am most thankful for (although, they did VERY quickly become my favorite toys.  Yes, Lilo the pug is part of the winning photo.  No, I did not share the prizes.  #IDontCareIfIDontShare).  I am most thankful that because our photo won, a pet shelter/ rescue of our choice received a box of toys, as well!  We, of course, chose Pooches in Pines to receive some new toys.  (If you don't know much about Pooches in Pines, click here to read my post about them).  I love the Quaker Pet Group Pet of the Month Contest, especially because regardless of who wins, it helps to pay it forward to pets in need; and for that, I am VERY thankful.

PS - here are some photos of us me enjoying the AMAZING toys that Quaker Pet Group sent to us.  No, really, they are some really high quality, super-fun toys.  Check it out:

Obligatory pose with Lilo the Pug and my our winnings.

Lilo the pug asked if she could borrow my flying pig toy.  I told her she could; when pigs fly.

These are the best. Toys. EVER.

Are you interested in entering the Quaker Pet Group Pet of the Month Contest?  Check out their website or Facebook page for more information.

Please note that this post is neither sponsored nor endorsed by any of the companies mentioned or their affiliates, and that I am in no way affiliated with any company mentioned in this post.  I did not receive any compensation for this post, it is simply my opinions and thankfulness.  The toys were received as a prize for participation in a past contest, as disclosed in this post.

There's a Pug in my Pool!

It's time for a swimming lesson update!  Well, I refused to get into the pool last weekend.  Refused.  Full on claws out, pig-legs planted, not going anywhere refused.  That's what my humans get for running out of bacon snacks and not replenishing the stash immediately.  But, just because my humans messed up doesn't mean that you should suffer, right?  So I forced volunteered the pug to get into the pool on my behalf.

First, the humans lured her in with our squeaky lizard prop (aka Laverne).  My plan was now in motion.  (I, of course, muttered an evil laugh as I stayed dry and watched from the patio)

Next, the pug was in the water.  I repeat, the PUG WAS IN THE WATER.  And she swam.  Like a champ (with a little help from the human).

Once she knew that she wasn't going to make like an anchor and sink, she started showing off.  This was NOT what I bargained for.

In fact, Lilo the pug actually liked it!  I don't get it.  I get in the pool and get bulging, fear-filled bug eyes.  She gets into the pool and this is the picture that we get:

Well, at least she got her energy out and I didn't have to let her chase me that afternoon.  And don't worry, friends, I'll get back into the pool and try again - as soon as the humans refill my bacon snacks!

Any tips for getting me back into the water (besides buying more bacon snacks)?

Shopping for a Dog Lover

This post contains affiliate links, which means that if you click on one of the product links, I’ll receive a small commission to buy some treats if you purchase an item through one of the links on this post, but I only share products and information that I believe are relevant to my readers.

Are you yearning for the perfect Mother's Day or Father's Day gift?  Maybe you are looking for the perfect year-end gift for the graduate in your life.  Don't forget about the summer birthdays and weddings coming up, too!  I love to spend my humans' hard-earned money shop.  Because I don't have thumbs, and because my legs don't quite reach the gas pedal, I do most of my shopping online.  And since signing up for Amazon Prime (Click here to try an Amazon Prime 30-Day Free Trial) , I get my products quickly and without any hassle.  Which is awesome, especially when you have a bulldog temper.  So,without further ado, I present to you my list of "Perfect Gifts for the Dog Lover(s) in Your Life"  aka #PGFTDLIYL.  (Somehow I don't think that #PGFTDLIYL will be trending.  Ever.)

1.  This beautiful Sterling Silver French Bulldog Heart Pendant and Necklace is classy, beautiful, and stylish (and also a favorite of mine because it is a FRENCH BULLDOG)!  This would make a great Mother's Day gift, birthday gift, or graduation gift.  It would also be perfect to show appreciation for a groomer, dog-walker, vet, or other "pet professional" in your life.  Or you could buy it for me yourself - always an option.

 2.  OK, so Lilo the pug told me I had to include a pug item in my list.  Well, she didn't tell me.  She threatened me by holding my jerky snacks hostage.  So here is the obligatory pug item.  But I have to admit the Pug Dog Bulldog Mug Shot Fun 8OZ Stainless Steel Flask D-550 is really pretty awesome - and serves as a reminder that my pug is a thug.  Would make a great Father's Day gift or birthday present!

3.  I know I have some pit-bull fans in the audience.  So for you, I found this `Bark Off!` Cute Pit Bull Un-welcome Statue Dog.  I don't even have a pit-bull in my pack and I want one of these!  This would be adorable by a front door or backyard.  Makes a great gift for any pit-bull lover.  If you don't like pit-bulls, well, you could always just buy the latest PitBull Album: Globalization.  You know, whichever floats your boat.  I'm going with the statue.  No offense to the PitBull fans that I am going with the pit-bull over PitBull.

4.  This DEI Leash Holder Wall Rack, "Let's Go for a Walk", Black would look great in any home and is especially perfect for the multi-dog house - or a single dog that has a leash collection.  A very thoughtful gift for any dog owner in your life.  And something that we need in ours.  HUMANS - take note, I want this.  Now I have a sudden urge to go for a walk.

5.  And last but not least, a sign that sums up the mantra of my household:  "Dogs Welcome"... Hanging or Standing Décor Wood Box Sign for the Home Bar - Office - Desk, Wall or Tabletop Display. 10" x 3".  Seriously, dogs are welcome, but humans will receive a sniff check.

Happy shopping!

A Disney Wordless Wednesday: Experience the #DisneySide of Storytelling

OK, I admit it, I racked my brain for the last 48 hours trying to figure out a topic that begins with "X" for the A to Z Challenge.  I've got nothing.  No xylem, xylotomy, or xeroxing.  Heck, I don't even own an X-Box (we're a PlayStation household, if you were wondering).  So instead of copping out and skipping X, I am going to bend the rules a little - I am going to be a rebel:  I am going to write about a topic that includes the letter X:  Experience.  (*gasp* *faint* *fist pump*)  And one of my most favorite experiences is the #DisneySide of storytelling.

In case you didn't know I love Disney.  I.  LOVE.  Disney.  I truly believe that I love Disney so much because they have mastered the art of storytelling and really immerse their guests in the experience.  Whether it is the Haunted Mansion at Walt Disney World (one of my personal favorites) or watching Frozen or Finding Nemo on the big screen, Disney never fails to create memorable, lasting experiences time and time again, which keeps us fanatics coming back for more.

For me, there are two vital components to a successful #DisneySide story:  characters and scenery.  Once I fall in love with the character and become familiar with their surroundings, I find myself completely immersed in the Disney experience.  But, I do not think that these components only apply to Disney - they apply to all writing and entertainment.  I love to write and attempt to make my audience feel as though they are actually experiencing the events that I write about with me (did you feel like you just caught Laverne when I wrote about the tale of the Lizard Lips?).  Disney is such an inspiration to me, and I strive to create experiences with my #DisneySide daily (like my StarWars Giveaway).  Does Disney inspire you? (PS, I will try to be more "wordless" next week, haha!)

This post is sponsored by PetSmart®, and the BlogPaws Professional Pet Blogger Network. I am being compensated for helping spread the word about Royal Canin® Pet Health Nutrition, but Daisy The French Bulldog only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers. PetSmart is not responsible for the content of this article

As some of you know, I am part-of a multi-dog household.  We love mealtime, but feeding three dogs is difficult, especially when each is a different breed with unique nutritional needs.  Keeping track of each dog's diet can become cumbersome and time consuming for our human.

Royal Canin's breed specific formulas make it easy to provide each dog with a well-balanced food that satisfies their individual dietary needs.  By using scientific research to identify optimal canine nutritional solutions, Royal Canin makes it easy to ensure that each dog in our house is receiving the proper pet health nutrition, simply by selecting the dog food that correlates with each dog's breed.

Since the company's inception in 1968, Royal Canin has focused on science and pet research to produce high quality dog food to meet unique canine nutritional needs.  Because of their long standing and deep respect for pets, and because the products that they create are a result of specifically tailored scientific research, Royal Canin is consistently on the cutting edge of specialized pet nutrition.  This means that Royal Canin only produces a high quality dog food product.

I think most of us can agree that pets are family members, and deserve the highest level of love and care; and Royal Canin agrees.  Royal Canin is a company that is founded upon the principals of providing the best possible pet nutrition to furry family members in order to promote optimal health for pets from a nutritional level.   Your pets are the center of your world, and at the center of everything that Royal Canin does.

Because of their love for pets, Royal Canin has created breed specific dog foods.  These foods cater to the unique needs of a variety of different breeds and life-stages.  I can speak from personal experience that the breed specific formulas that Royal Canin has created are exceptional and they are easy to find at yourlocal PetSmart.

With a shelf all to themselves, it is easy to browse the Royal Canin products at PetSmart and choose the formula that is appropriate for your dog's breed (we picked up a bag of Pug Puppy food for my sister Lilo on this trip).  Providing your canine companion with the proper pet health nutrition no longer has to be a difficult or time consuming task.  Take it from me, and make it easy - grab a bag of Royal Canin breed specific dog food for your fur-baby; I bet you'll get a few extra licks tonight for it!

Wet Dogs are the Worst

This post contains affiliate links, which means that if you click on one of the product links, I’ll receive a commission if you purchase an item through one of the links on this post, but I only share products and information that I believe are relevant to my readers.

OK, so maybe the title is a little harsh.  I can think of a lot of things worse than a wet dog:  running out of food, running out of snacks, depleting the world's supply of bacon.  Way worse than a wet dog.  WAY. WORSE.  But, if you're anything like my humans, you don't appreciate a wet dog sloshing all over your house.  And your furniture.  And your sheets. Well, you're in luck: the Soggy Doggy Doormat is here to save the day (and your house)!

Let me back up a little bit.  Back in March I entered the Soggy Doggy Doormat St. Patrick's Day contest - and won!  Here, let me show you my winning pose:

Very festive, right?  So, my prize for winning the contest was an actual Soggy Doggy Doormat!!!  I was so excited.  Between my swimming lessons and bath time (and of course, the Florida rainy season), our house gets trampled by a lot of "wet dog" - and the Soggy Doggy Doormat was just the product that we needed.

The product came neatly wrapped with a really nice label.  And the gray color matched my house perfectly, and was very pretty.  So pretty, in fact, that I couldn't help but pose next to it.

After I attacked the packaging allowed my human to safely and neatly use scissors to open my prize, it was time to test it out.  Lilo the pug was the first dog on the mat.  The verdict:  two paws up!

Since we received our Soggy Doggy Doormat a few weeks ago, we have discovered a slew of ways to use it.  After swimming and bath time are some obvious uses, but it also works great for:

Nap time

And even play time!

As you can see, the best part about this product is that it is so versatile:  you don't have to wait for the rain in order to enjoy it!  Oh, and if you happen to have a pug who can't hold her bladder during a wrestling match get the mat dirty, don't worry, it washes really easily!  Just follow the directions on the label and let your washing machine do the dirty work.  Pun intended.

Thinking about getting your own?  Well, you should!  Here's how you can buy one for the wet dogs in your life:

Visit the Soggy Doggy Doormat website and order directly from their website; or

Click on the photo below to purchase one from Amazon.  If you order from Amazon, this product is eligible for Prime two-day shipping.  This means getting your Soggy Doggy Doormat PRONTO before the rainy season rolls in.  Don't have Prime?  No problem, you can Try an Amazon Prime 30-Day Free Trial.
