It’s my favorite day of the week – Frenchie Friday! I love Frenchie
Friday, because I get to bring you up to date on what I have been up to.
Also, since I am participating in the A-to-Z challenge, I am describing
a Charity for my letter “C” entry. This week was a busy one filled with plenty of shopping (as I am sure you could tell from my Easter Basket post); but I was most excited to spend some of my money on treats for my friends over at Pooches in Pines. They are a great organization, and I am thrilled to shine the spotlight on them for Frenchie Friday.
Pooches in Pines is
a volunteer-based group that assists the Pembroke Pines Police
Department in helping lost dogs find their owners. The organization
provides the necessary care and housing for these animals until their
owner is located. In the event that Pooches in Pines cannot locate the lost pet’s owner, loving foster care is provided for the animal until they are successfully adopted. Pooches in Pines truly provides a necessary service, and I am very grateful for their kindness and service to our local pets.
As you can imagine, Pooches in Pines
needs pet supplies to help further their cause and provide loving and
excellent care for the lost animals that they help. I was fortunate
enough to win a gift card for participating in a local costume contest
and, in an effort to pay it forward, I wanted to buy a little pick-me-up
for the lost pets that Pooches in Pines
is currently caring for. As I walked the aisles of my favorite pet
store, I thought to myself that the best gift for any dog is a HUGE BOX
OF TREATS. Am I right or am I right? All joking aside, I am confident
that this is the first gift of many to this amazing organization. If
you are interested in helping Pooches in Pines, you can contact me or you can click on their link directly in this post. Happy Frenchie Friday, friends!

Love All Pets on #LoveYourPetDay
Not only is it #FrenchieFriday today, but it is also
#LoveYourPetDay! Let’s not kid ourselves, every day should be love your
pet day – but today is a day to show some extra special love to all of
your fuzzy family members!
There are so many blogs and postings out there about how to love your pet today, but I wanted to call attention to some pets that don’t get to celebrate today. These pets are cared for by the awesome rescue organizations, but they still deserve to be loved today and every day! Please read my suggestions below on how you can help, and then scroll down to a few organizations that I wanted to highlight on this #LoveYourPetDay!
Here are some ways to help:
1. Bring attention to the cause: tweet, share, and post all that you can about these groups and the fuzzy friends that need a forever home.
2. Don’t buy or adopt a pet on a whim: sure, a puppy or kitten as a Christmas gift sounds perfect, but please make sure that your home is ready to accept and care for your new baby forever. Also, do your research to make sure that the breed (or breed mix) is right for your home and lifestyle; the easiest way to do this is to schedule a consultation with a local veterinarian. Imagine being taken away from your mother and siblings, placed in a home with humans that are supposed to love and care for you, and then abandoned and destined to repeat the process over and over again. It is just not fair to everyone involved – please think before you bring us home!
3. Donate: donate money. donate time. donate supplies. Donate whatever you can to make sure that these animals feel loved even if they haven’t yet found their forever home.
4. Don’t keep a pet in an abusive, stressful, or unloving situation: this aligns with #2 above. If you have brought a pet home and have found that it is more than you can handle (perhaps due to excessive health needs, or the wrong breed for your lifestyle) please be responsible and find a safe and loving environment that you can transition your pet to. No animal deserves to live its short life in an abusive or unloving environment.
To get you started, please take a minute to visit these great organizations. If you have one that you would like to add, please leave your information in the comments or Tweet me @DaisyFrenchie. Don’t forget to love your pet today!

You Might Be a Frenchie If...
Happy #FrenchieFriday everyone! To celebrate my most favorite day of
the week, I put together a list to help you determine whether or not
you are in fact a Frenchie. If you can check off one or more of these,
you very well might be a Frenchie:
1. Humans often mistake you for a pig.
2. You are constantly surrounded by the smell of an egg fart. I mean sulfur, surrounded by the smell of sulfur.
3. Your humans had to you an extra wide food bowl so that your head wouldn’t get stuck while you ate. Not that I would know anything about this. Moving right along….
4. If you spin around on your butt too fast you tip over.
5. If you spend too long pooping and the wind blows too hard you tip over. This totally happened to a friend, not to me.
6. If you are running really fast on the tile and try to stop, your brakes fail and you roll (slide) into the wall. Or tip over. Enough with the tipping over already!
7. Anytime is food time.
8. Same as #7.
9. Your snoring keeps your humans up at night. Not that you would know because you’re sleeping, of course.
10. Your selfies look something like this
